Accessibility

Built to be used, not only viewed.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA across this website. Where we fall short, we want to know.

What we commit to

  • Semantic landmarks, correct heading order, and a visible skip link on every page.
  • Full keyboard operation, with visible focus states and no keyboard traps.
  • Form labels, inline errors, an error summary, and live regions for status messages.
  • Colour contrast meeting WCAG 2.2 AA, with no meaning carried by colour alone.
  • Meaningful alternative text, and empty alt text for decorative imagery.
  • Motion that respects prefers-reduced-motion; nothing depends on animation or hover.
  • Layouts that work at 200 percent zoom and down to 320 pixels wide.
  • Touch targets sized for comfortable use on a phone.

Known limitations

This site is new and its content is still small. As documents, photography, and data are added, each will be checked for alternative text, captions, contrast, and an accessible data equivalent for any chart.
